WHO SHOULD APPLY?

This intensive will be grounded in the values and the mission of Acts of Matter: to bring together diverse people to enhance each others’ experience in life and in dance through sharing, listening, and learning.

We are excited to work with mature individuals with various ranges of experience who have  an interest in a deep dive over three days into investigation, self-reflection, rigor, joy, and community. Most applicants will have a shared goal of pursuing dance professionally.

Daily schedule | Fri-Sun 9a-5p | Sun 5-6p (very) tentative SHOWING open to public

Due to the hybrid / limited in-person nature of this summer’s workshop, all applications will be considered at once and notifications delivered by May 1.

Prospective participants who have never trained with Rebecca Lemme will be asked to provide a short description of their training and submit links to video of themselves in both improvisation (2 min) and set material (minimum 1 min).
This improvisation can be in any style but should show a diversity of dynamics, qualities, and speed. Music optional. The set repertory can be your own choreography or someone else’s. It can be an excerpt of a longer piece and can be in studio or on stage.

After submission of your application, you will receive an email confirming receipt. After May 1 all applicants will be notified of acceptance and scholarship decisions. At this time you will also receive instructions for payment. We accept Venmo, PayPal, cash or check.
Your registration is not secured until payment goes through and you have received a confirmation email.

Scholarship: If you are applying for scholarship you will be asked to provide a short statement as to how scholarship would better enable you to participate. All scholarship applicants will be considered and notified by May 1. Decisions are need-based.

In the event that spots remain open after May 1, applications will be considered on a rolling basis.

Thank you for your interest. We look forward to working with you!
