Through a holistic approach to dance education Rebecca Lemme’s classes merge critical thinking processes with skill building and art making. She teaches a Release based technique class heavily grounded in Laban/Bartenieff Fundamentals. In addition to contemporary technique, she teaches contact improvisation, ballet and jazz with an emphasis on whole-body connectivity. Currently Assistant Professor of Dance at California State University, Long Beach and teaching open classes at Live Arts Los Angeles and Contemporary Modern Dance Cooperative, Rebecca continues to teach throughout the year at Hubbard Street’s Lou Conte Dance Studio, Visceral Dance Center, and Joffrey Ballet Chicago. Additionally she has also been on faculty at CalArts, Columbia College Chicago, Roosevelt University, and has guest taught at the American College Dance Association, University of Chicago, Northwestern University, Grand Valley State University, Wake Forest University, Beloit College, and the Chicago National Association of Dance Masters.
